I bought this because I wanted to see what a children's "picture book" looked like on Kindle, but was pleasantly surprised by the story. Great job!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok, but a bit too grim!, July 12, 2012

I bought the kindle version of the book expecting it to be as light-hearted and funny like The Five Mouse Sisters was. As I begin to read it to my kids at bedtime, I had to turn the tablet away and make up my own words. I was so surprised at its grim punishments like, death by drowning, eating poison and "death by mouse trap". It lacks true morality and there was no lesson for my kids to absorb from it. I think this book has the ability to be great if it was more light hearted and had more humor. My 3 and 6 year olds would have been horrified before I turned off the lights after reading this book.
